Panic Attack: why is this happening now....

I got an email from a school that requires 3 semester hours of Biochem asking me why I only took 2 semester hours of biochem. I was confused and opened my AACOMAS to see with shock that it indeed shows only 2.0 semester hours...in fact all the credit hours look different from what I entered. All my 3 credit classes are now 2 credits. I am really confused because my school goes by semester hours...

I checked my transcript, and it says 3.0 semester hours for Biochem. I checked my verified AMCAS app and it says 3.0 semester hours for Biochem.
I seriously want to hit myself over head for not finding out about this with AACOMAS until now! I already submitted all my secondaries and have been waiting for interviews...and this happens?!

Just emailed AACOMAS and will call them tomorrow. I am freaking out right now:

1. Have to sign up for 1.0 credit of Biochem next semester?!
2. Will I be disqualified from programs now that all my classes are 2.0 instead of 3.0 semester hours???!!!!

Has anyone dealt with this situation before?

Relax.

Call AACOMAS tomorrow and figure out what's going on. If they update the transcript it will be sent out again with the corrected information in 1 week.

If your school offered three credit hour classes AND your transcript says three credit hours were earned...I don't see how you could only be awarded two credit hours by AACOMAS. This sounds like it was just a mistake, which does happen.

As a first time applicant I didn't think much of it when I saw the AACOMAS verified course work. I thought: ok maybe that means something to the schools...that 2.0 mean 3.0....that 0.7 means 1.0....
but I guess that is not the case T_T

huh...weird. I took a look at my AACOMAS PDF and it states that my biochem class was worth 2.7 credits (a .3 deficit) because it was converted from quarter credits into semester credits.

OP were you on something other than a semester system at school?

That' shouldn't be then that a 3 credit biochem class becomes 2 credits. Def call AACOMAS asap.

Thank you for your responses! I called AACOMAS, and they did make a mistake! 🙁
The good news is they fixed it right away...
I guess I was over-reacting but it really gave me a scare

Glad to hear it was fixed. I know it would have panicked me a fair bit too! Based upon your tag line, this definitely seems like an appropriate time for tea drinking 🙂.
