able to solve 30 out of 50 questions in 50 mins. whats worse
is I only got like 17 out of that 30 questions right. omgosh...
what should I do. I need way more time on rc section.
i'm not an international student but english is my second
language. i have pretty decent gpa but rc section
and interview really scares me...

This is my method and the first time i tried it was while working on the RC section of the topscore I exam at like 5am in the morning when i was half asleep with a massive headache i ended up with a score of 19 which is 36 out of 50 answers correct, but i followed the same method later and ended up with a score of 23.
I first start out by skimming through the first sentence or two of each paragraph in a passage to get a sense of what its talking about and then go directly to the questions. I find this method very time efficient.
If i come across any question that asks me about the intent of this passage or something time consuming, i usually skip those and come back to it after i went through all the other questions in the passages.
Maybe you could try this and see if it works for you as well. good luck 👍
Theres no need to panic, i'm sure with more practice you'll be able to better your scores in this section regardless of whichever method you choose to follow.

I scored a 23 on RC and here is what I did: I numbered my scratch paper 1-15. Then I scanned quickly each paragraph and wrote the keywords, names, numbers relevant to each paragraph on the scratch paper. This should take no more than 6-7 minutes. That may sound really fast, but it is possible. Let me tell you how. There is a speed reading technique called scanning. Scanning is taking your finger and tracing quickly each line. When you regularly read your eyes stop at each word, and this is what slows you down. Your brain can take in more information than that, but your eyes are slow. The finger helps your eyes speed up. Try it. Now, when scanning you are not trying to memorize the info, just the good stuff to help bring you back when you need the details, that is why you write those things down. Then when you look at the questions, you look at your scratch paper, and you know right where to look and it takes you no time at all to find the right answer. Worked for me, maybe it will work for you. Good luck!

OMG, same here, ESL to me as well!!!!
Some dental students told me that, if you are running out of time, forget about RC part, cuz really, that is noth you can do to improve your vocabulary in such a short period, rather than wasting time on it, go ahead concentrate on other part and make higher score on other part.
About interview, dont be nervous, just be yourself, you have great GPA, I am sure you will be fine!!!
