The pharmacist I work with doesn't do email so i have to give her the PharmCAS paper letter of reference. However, she has to include a letter which is supposed to be on an official letterhead. According to her, CVS does not have an official letterhead. Pharmcas says they will accept it but the schools may not. Question is, is there someone who had to use a paper letter of reference which was sent with a letter not on an official letterhead. Did the schools you applied to have a problem with it? I could call the schools to find out. Of course, that would be the best but i haven't decided which schools to apply to. I'm still on Temple's waitlist for 2008 admissions.

i think she can create a letter head her self like write where she works like CVS or something like that. and write her position and give her number in case they need to call up and make sure.

I applied to 3 schools this year and none of the schools (UCHSC, University of New Mexico, or Creighton) had a problem with receiving a letter without an official letterhead. Two emergency room doctors wrote a letter for me and this is how it the letter looked in the upper left hand corner....

Date

The Doctors (their last name)
their address

The address of the Credentials Office

Dear.....,

Letter

I hope this helps. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. I think the content of the letter is what matters the most, definitely not the letterhead.

Yeah, the purpose of the whole letterhead requirement is to act as a measure of credibility. A letter looks more credible the more it resembles a professional source like a professor and/or pharmacist. I would advise your writer to make the letter as reflective of the organization and/or school.

So it's really not a big deal that it won't be on an official letterhead as long as it has the CVS address and not her personal address and includes a phone number, right? Thanks guys.
