I know that some of the dental schools asked applicants to call on Friday to find out if they got in but why else would you call on Friday beyond simply being anxious to find out? People don't honestly think that by calling the dental schools on Friday that that will help their chances do they? Or does it? 😡

i think ppl are just paranoid and just really, really want to know..i don't think it helps your chances since its only the first day...i can understand if you were waitlisted and were calling to let them know you were still interested etc...if i worked at the dental school that have not specifically said to call, i would turn the ringer off...hey, some might go as far as to send all calls to voicemail

The only reason I would be calling is because I want to know if I'm accepted and don't want to wait for the snail mail! Impatient, I know, but I don't want to wait a second more from this long process!

Of course it helps your chances. Schools don't base their decisions based on your GPA, DAT, extracurriculars, or interview...schools base their decision on the order that applicants call them on Friday to see whether or not they got in...

Maybe someone has an early Dec interview which they would cancel if they found out they got in somewhere higher up on their school priority list...
