Started my general review today (long day) and I noticed there's only two pages of nematodes/trematodes/cestodes. No pictures, no information on cycles.

Is this just not very high yield on step or should I use a different source?

a buddy of mine who took the exam about 4-5 months ago was raving about how his test had a **** ton of parasite questions and he was regretting that he never looked at that stuff. He ended up doing fine. But every test is different of course so take that with a grain of salt. Nah, i don't think you need another source on parasites lol. look at the stuff in fa now and a lil before your test and maybe wiki some extra things and annotate if you have time, but i def wouldn't stress something like parasites.

i haven't gone all thru micro in Uworld yet but theym might have some extra stuff on parasites so I'm guessing that would be a good "extra" source as well.

I took my exam the other day and had only 1 parasite question. It was super straight forward and a well known worm.

there's maybe 15 questions on parasites in Uworld and half of them are related to Malaria.

That was another reason I made this topic. Not seeing a lot of parasitology in uworld either, which I took as a sign. I think I'm just going to hope I have butterball's experience rather than EasyE's friend...

It depends on how lucky you get. You might only get questions about Malaria. You might get a question about Loa Loa or Leishmaniasis... Who knows? It's all about your level of comfort with being ok missing those questions

Might be worth it to know how you get each one, that seems to be what they like to ask for parasites, especially worms. Like, know which ones are mosquito borne, which you get from bare skin on dirt, dirt eating, poor hand washing, undercooked pork, swimming in lakes in Africa, and fly bites.

There is a chance that any low-yield subject could show up in large amounts on your test. But what defines the subject as low yield is that it is unlikely. So don't worry about it. I love parasitology, so of course my test had 0 questions on it.
