My research focuses on parent-adolescent and adolescent-peer relationship influences on the development of adolescent behavioral problems. Does anyone know what schools have researchers doing this kind of research? I'm looking for schools with lower GRE requirements in particular, so no University of California's or anything. 🙂

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

lower is relative, what kind of scores do you have?

Either way, your topic interest can aligned with almost any developmental/child psych researcher.

Thank you for your replies, DynamicDydactic and loveoforganic! DynamicDidactic, you're right, I should have been more specific - my GRE V+Q is 1100. So it's terribly low and I need a very forgiving school!

I know THE PERFECT lab for you. As a matter of fact, it is called the "Peers-and Family Lab" and is specifically focused on adolescents' relationships with their peers and family members during the transition from middle to high school. I was an undergraduate TA for this lab for 2 years. HOWEVER, it is located at the University of Connecticut (Dr. Julie Wargo Aikins) which is generally very competitive and I don't know about their policy regarding GRE scores. But if you are a great match they might be able to overlook that. I would definitely give that a try.
Good luck

Marissa4usa, what a cool sounding research lab!

UhOh, you may want to check out "relational aggression", which often presents in the middle school years. Crick & Grotpeter out of the University of Minnesota did the original work in this area. Yoon (Wayne St) also has done some interesting work in this area. There is also someone out of the Boston area (Harvard?) who published a book in the area. I believe they all focused on adolescent women, though I haven't seriously read in the area since around 2000.
