Part 1 results are out!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I did not make the cut. I feel like a total fraud. Where should I go from here for next year?

Also failed. WTH? Flew through every ITE with flying colors. This sucks.

I wasn't expecting the results to come out today.

How does one register for part 2 now?

One does not. One begins to scrounge up $2k and awaits further instruction from the ABA. Believe me, they will contact you.

Advice:
1) You MUST have an active, unrestricted medical license the year you pass Part 1. If you don't have one yet, you just might have to retake Part 1.

2) It makes no difference when you register for Part 2. They don't hand out Spring exams based on when you applied. It's a random assignment, or a conspiracy if you're into that sort of belief.

Congrats to all who passed. Those who came up short, look into your ITEs, wait for your score report to come back, and determine your plan for next year. Don'tt let it get to you. Just a setback.

PASSED!!!! yeah. anybody have the link to the list of numbers who failed from each program?

I thought they now had enough examiners to let everyone take the test in the spring if they wanted to?

And congratulations to those who passed!

I found that to be an odd request also. I was fortunate to pass, the last thing on my mind was what program had grads that failed. Not cool.

I admit looking up my classmates on the ABA page when oral results were released. They've since started to disable the instant lookup for the first day, but when I took it you could look up anyone's results immediately.

I just wanted to know who to congratulate :highfive: ... and who I should tactfully avoid the subject with unless/until/if they brought it up first.

I figured amyl is just curious about overall stats / pass rate. (I didn't even take this test and I'm idly curious about this year's pass rate.) I really doubt she's looking for programs to make fun of, even though the question was phrased oddly.

Strange. Everyone I have talked to passed the boards. I wonder if this years pass rate was higher then most.

Almost everyone I know from residency passed. Even one from last year who failed passed but another from 2 years ago failed for the 3rd time 🙁

briefly: during residency we had an abrupt shift in our academic program and a different system implemented asap. prior classes had inadequate pass rates. the admin implemented these changes to prevent this in the future. I am thinking that we did better... as NP said most people I have talked to have passed.... I AM acutely interested in hearing my programs pass rate. i am curious if the changes they implemented made a difference... i am anticipating a good report not morbidly pursuing failures as you all suggest.

Then it may be easiest to just contact your program. They should promptly share with you the stats of your graduating class.

I've actually never heard of a weblink showing the pass rates of all residency programs

The letter that will get from the ABA will contain key words. This will give you an idea as to what knowledge gaps you may have. Take a month off and start studying again. I have heard of examinees doing well on the ITE and failing the actual test.

Do not doubt yourself. You had a bad day.

All the best,

Cambie
