Hello Fellow Dental SDNites..
I recieved my part 1 score and average 91. the break up is as follows:
Anatomy - 91
Micro/path - 90
biochem/physio - 90
Dental Anatomy - 94
I wish to know my chances of getting into dental schools.

congrats...thts a great score....
need a support group....before writing the exam.did u get the feeling that u knew it all? tht u were ready and confident to take the exam??..how many times did u read the text..the kaplan ( if u follwed that book).i am leaving a lot of topics from the text cos its too vast...is that ok?? i dont seem to be starting decks as kaplans taking all my time..
2 time decks 1 time all question papers...will tht formula work for a 90.?

actually..i used to get higher scores at home in the old q papers..abt 95+ but i think we shuld not compare the score conversion of old exams with the present exams becos it depends on scores of the ppl who took the present exam before u or along with u.Each paper is different and we cannot say that like in past exams if u get 70 answers right u will get in 90's...Though i found the paper very easy and expected a much higher score..i think the curve was highly competitive thats why if u have noticed majority of ppl who have taken cbt recently and have posted their results have got between 89-93.
jus my 2 cents.

so if u r to b expecting around 90 ......on a rough calculation is that u should hav some thing around 70-75 answers right...but coz this is a percentile system its hard to calculate even ur score coz its not based on ur performance but many others...but still just to hav a rough figure in mind is it ok to get 70-75 answers right.....

i think by personal experience ..u should have much more than 70-75 answers right..becos i definitely know i must have had only abt 10 answers wrong each in micropath and biochem/physio but got only 93 in both the subjects...even if i had 15 wrong in each subject..i shuld have got more if we based it on old exams score conversion so i guess it was a really high cut off.

Remember the competition is increasing each yr with ppl fresh from college writing the exam(its been 9 yrs for me since i did my 1st yr BDS!)
and with cbt since u can write it whenever u want..the pressure is less and ppl r studying more intensively and r well prepared for the exam.

So i think if u aim for 99 u can get in early 90's and if ur really lucky u will score more!!!🙂

i should probably reconsider taking this exam 🙄 coz by the way i perform iam just only good enough only to write one paper per day to get 10 wrong answers......
