congrats preeth!! great score!!

i felt i could have concentrated on studying some more FPD and pharmac. some of the questions were really vague. case-based also dealt a lot with these two topics that i found tough.

i felt the same .It was tough!!

well i guess i would have concentrated on fpd applications in clinical scenarios. when it is best to use fpd and when not to etc.

i dont think its really necessary to learn chemical formulae. i think preeth meant that u need to know the concentration of each LA drug, when its used, the vasoconstrictor used with it and its concentration, the amount per ml etc. be thorough with that since at least some questions are going to be from LA since its v important for us in oral surgery.

i think decks and papers are enough. you just have to be really thorough. there were lots of times in the exam when i knew that answer was there in the decks but i dint read them enough number of times to remember. but if you have any doubts, look up only that topic in textbooks. dont muddle up your mind with too much info that u dont need.

and most of all, rest on the day before your exam. you dont want to appear for the exam all tired and sleepy.

no I am not using any textbooks for pharma.I am studying only from decks.
I hate pharma 😀 .So don`t worry we can share the hatered till july.

hi guys,
i am back after the exam.
BUt the worst thing happend//unexpected///
my computer got hung when i was on th 123rd question of the first session.
I waited 3 hrs for it to get fixed...telling them i dont mind as long as i give the exam tudday.But after 3 hrs of waiting..they told me the problem cant b fixed.amd that i will have to reschedule my dates..The centre couldnt do anything abt it..and they told me to call up the 1800 number and tell them abt the problem./and that my situtation had alreddy been fwded to the account manager of the ADA...she put me on hold for another 30 minutes and took my fone number ..so she could call me tommorow after they have done a full investigation of the technical problem.The prometric centre told me this is the first time they had to cancel the test and rescedule it..there were technicals problems associated with delays but the test taker could take it on the same day!I just happend to b so darned unlucky! 🙁
SHe cant tell me an tentaive date as to when i can get reschedeuled ...JUST no clue but wait till tomorow for her call regarding this issue.!!!!
IN any way i have to reschedule BOTh the days. and take a whole new paper
i just ffelt sooo irritated n upset..i came all the way to NY to take the exam cos i ddnt get rthe requested date in Philly.I understand it was a technical problem...and things were unpredictable......just need to cool my head off i guess 🙁 🙁

I am very sorry to know all this.
Its hard when things like this happen at no fault of ours.But I have heard a lot these days though not in ndbe with toefl etc etc.
One of my friends had given the test(ndbe-2) but the ada people couldn`t download her test from the prometric center and they kept her hold for more than a month to send her the result.
Really we need to be lucky from preparation till selection in every step .

Don`t worry u will do very good in ur next scedule.

callousk9 that is so horrible! i am so sorry to hear that!!! 😱 i know that at least 2 computers in the prometric center that i took the exam in hung in between the candidates' exam - i think they were taking different tests. but i think they managed to repair it. but i think this is common occurence so anyone taking CBT should be aware that it can happen. i think it happened to henna too if i am not mistaken?

and 3hours is such a long wait and then they send u home without even a proper date to take it next!!! 😡

i hope u get a center in philly itself the next time around. its really horrible to go all prepared to take the exam and then for no reason the whole thing spoils coz of a computer glitch.

feeling real bad for u callous and all the very best the next time over.

I am really sorry to hear that dude..I know that nothing we say would take it all away...But look at the brighter side..You know a few questions which haven't been released yet 😉 I am sure that you would get a re-test within a week. So when the time comes, you blast it dude..We all are praying for ya...
err...I was just wondering if it's posible for someone to ask for some sort of compensation..I mean people who have already booked their return tickets etc etc

p.s My question in some other thread has been asnwered..Calloussk9 was doing real good in the exam [his irritation with the whole episode shows it]However for those who end up forgetting everything,sitting in front of the computer,there is a silver lining in the black cloud..Dont wait for the computer to screw up. You may not be so lucky!If you wanna take it on a later date,Press CNTRL+ALT+DEL 3-4 times

I am sorry that you had to go through all that. But on the bright side, you now have an idea of what to study.. Ok I know I am not helping 😉
The computer crashed more than a couple of times even when I took the exam but somehow they got it to work. It was pretty frustrating for me as I'd be in the middle of a case based question and it would crash and after they get it to work I'd have to start all over again.
Anyways, just relax and take it easy now. There's very little we can do about things that we have no control over.

hey guys. REally appreciate ur support.

i just happend to call the customer care although yesterdy i was told that i will be contacted by them.It seems the computers are down since yesterday and will not be working till late afternoon.
The lady told me that they are telling all the candidates to call to confirm/reschedule their dates only late afternoon.They cannot pull up any records frm the computer,so they cannot help anyone.
(this is for those of u who are taking the exam and want to confirm their appointments.)

i hope i get a date early enough.JUst want to get done with it.(not that i am well prepared..but want to b mentally freeed!!!aarrrghh)

i know the feeling callousk9....i am sure when u went for the exam, at least u felt the relief that it would be over in 2days time.

but now u have to reschedule and have all the tension again. how inefficient the system is!! did any of u take GRE or TOEFL in india? the comps were way better there!!! i guess they really try to maintain the quality of testing there out of fear they will lose the contract or whatever. here its all a monopoly so i guess they dont care.

latest news..

i called ADA.they said they will issue me a completely new eligibility form for the exam.-new confirmation numbers..treat this case as a fresh form!Compensation is..i donthave to pay for the test the second time..big deal!!!
which means...they send me the letter by friday..and then fix dates like a whole new candidate

I am so mad..u guys have no clue. I wanted o get done with this this week since i had big plans after ths week..everything was planned ..until this glitch screwed it up.
Ther r times when u JUSt want to throw dentistry into a dirty bin n get on with ur life.

i took my exam on 18 and 19 may and the results were processed and mailed out on 2nd june- approximately 2 weeks. i havent got it yet since i moved from my previous place, but i guess it should take about 3days after the results are processed and mailed out to get the score report in ur mailbox. have u taken the part 2?
