hi, i was just wondering if it's bad to be a part time student all through undergrad? part time is the only way i can pay for college as of now, and i don't know how much my circumstances will change in the future. any opinions will be much appreciated!

sorry i meant to ask if being a part time student would ruin my chances of getting into med school? since im taking a smaller amount of course work than most pre med students. i am working 2 jobs though in my available time.

In general, med schools like to see that you can manage a heavy load. That load need not be solely academic. Work, significant time with extracurriculars, raising a family, dealing with significant health issues, taking an MCAT prep course--are all good and sufficient explanations for taking a smaller class load. Most important: keep the GPA high. I've read on SDN that some schools specifically want evidence that you can carry a heavy academic load and do well. If you can figure out which they are, then don't apply there.
