As a new grad, would you take a part-time position (30-32h/week) at a hospital if that is what they have available ?

Probably not, if you don't get the benefits of a full-time employee.

If you got health insurance, paid vacations and things like that even as part-time, then I'd consider it and then do 10 hours a week for a retail chain, if a retail chain needed me just for 10 hours.

Yeah, depending on the company, 32 hours just might qualify you for FT benefits (health, vision, dental, 401k). I've seen thresholds at 24, 26, 32, and 35 hours....it all just depends.

I agree with bacillus, I'd take 32 hours w/ FT benefits; however, I'd also take 32 hours per-diem (w/out FT benefits) so long as I was getting paid a higher hourly rate to compensate AND if I have a wife w/ benefits I can add onto.

At this point I'd add myself into a float pool with a retail pharmacy, or otherwise I'd enjoy my extra long weekend and go fishing or something
