Hi all,
According to ADA official website, Part1 format will be changed in 2007:
"Beginning in 2007, Part I will be a comprehensive exam with 400 muliple-choice items. Approximately 20 percent of the items will be grouped into testlets with interdisciplinary focus and clinical application. "

Just wonder what the new format looks like (more like current USMLE?) and how it affects our preparation for Part1?
any ideas?
thanks!

oh great!
they just keep making things more and more difficult every time!
thanks ADA!!! 😡

may be it might be easier then. as uit is they are running out of questions. things are getting complicated with bio-chem and other subjects.
hope that this is lot easier

Yeah, That's right. The exam will be more"clinical" and it will be CBT only, no more written test.....

hi,,
i wonder,,,does the part 1 exam still have 4 part separately??
if ada mixed the questions,,it would be tremendously terrible!!!

sounds like mix together, and I am afraid that the questions are more like USMLE...give you a case(usually a long passage), then find an answer, which is always indirect....🙁

The format will stay the same but just become comprehensive like the pilot if you saw.

hi
to all who are worried about the nbde change

Each of the four Part I examinations consists of approximately 100 multiple-choice test items. Beginning in 2007, Part I will be a comprehensive exam with 400 muliple-choice items. Approximately 20 percent of the items will be grouped into testlets with interdisciplinary focus and clinical application.

this is what i found on the site. so 20% shouldn't be major ocmpared to 80% unchanged
just want to be an optimist
