I'm not class of 2013, but I'd be up for a party anyway! I'm in the DC area, but I can travel. 😀

I don't think anyone's from MD, at least from those that showed interest in celebrating, so far. It was a centralized location from DE, PA, NJ.... but I don't see why we can't consider DC either if you know of any awesome places, do share!
 
How about anyone on the west coast?
 
i'm not class of 2013 either, but i'm from the DC area too!
there's lots of yummy restaurants in DC 🙂 and i'm sure everyone loves good food 👍

I know, I was hoping to find a smiley giving you a rasberry but this was the next best thing 😛
 
:caution: Even though it says caution, I think of this smiley as saying, "No you di'n't," in a schoolyard sort of way. What can I say, I went to an interesting middle school.

As much as I appreciate not having to drive very far, it seems that Philly or someplace up that way would be more central if most people are in PA/DE/NJ, as opposed to everyone having to drive down I-95.

Do I know any good restaurants? Well, hm, I usually end up having dinner with friends along the I-270 corridor (Gaithersburg, Germantown, Frederick), but that's farther west and hence more driving for people coming down 95.

If we do DC, maybe Sunnex can recommend the best place. I also have a friend who lives in DC and goes out to eat a lot, so I'll ask her if she has any recommendations.
 
I'm not sure how people feel about this....but since MD/DE/PA/NJ seem to be the location for many of us...how does Atlantic City sound?

My house is only a few miles away and I would be more than willing to supply floor/couch space for those of you who wanted to not worry about driving after consuming some "celebratory" beverages.

I am open for going where ever to celebrate prior to August!

AC is kind of far for me -- ~ 3 hours, compared to a little over 2 for Philly -- but if that's where everyone else wants to do it, I'll make it a day.
 
How about Baltimore? Some of the restaurants on the Inner Harbor have some awesome patios!

BOO. HORRIBLE timing. :annoyed:

But look at all these DC people coming out of the wood work! Gosh, and I have felt so alone all this time!

I haven't been there in almost forever! Flew over LV a few times though and boy has the landscape changed! Hmmm I think we'll have to schedule a class trip before orientation.

I think we should put up a poll to get the most accurate results! It should include AC, Philly, MD, wherever else. Only those people semi-serious about coming should vote. I would put it up but I'm not sure I'll be able to come anyway. I'll be in central PA so for me the more north it is, the better.

I vote DC as well.

Depending on the weekend. I work everyother weekend unless I can get someone to cover my shift but I need at least a months notice to do that. 🙁 boooooo stinky Office Manager

I live north on 14th St. in Columbia Heights! I do not work at City Paws, haha, but I spend lots of time drinking next to it at Bar Pilar. 😳

and judging from the picture of your dog, i can kind of guess who you are (not to be creepy or anything! :laugh:)

Sunnex what? City paws is a small hospital, why have you not come talk to me then? I talk about sdn all the time...zoonose come by and say hi!

haha i pass bar pilar all the time walking from the metro station to city paws...

i never realized there were so many DC people!

Ok if not, what about the waterfront in georgetown? Its a great place for a large group to meet but we don't have to worry about reservations or anything like that.

The waterfront would be great - so beautiful down there! I love the proximity to Reagan National - it's fun to watch the planes take off and land (ok, I'm a geek).

Now, how about dates? I am thinking June or July as we all will be pretty busy getting ready for VET SCHOOL in August!
 
I think june is best. July is too close, sxhool starts for aug 3 for us Westerners! And I may be off on my roadtrip there!

The waterfront at georgetown is a general area with 2 large outdoor bars literally on the water. Its really pretty, but its got a bunch of restaurants and bars just in case the weather is bad. Ill try to find a link to it when I get back from work 🙂

Normally, I would say "pick me, pick me!" but I will have my house on the market so am trying to stay out of it. But I can definitely pick up at the airport!!


Also, I am kinda thinking Baltimore might be better...I think it is a little more central to those in Philly and Jersey and the parking is better than in DC (esp. G'town), which is a total nightmare.

Hey VeganChick! I was thkn of getting a hotel in the area, leavn my car there and just taking the subway/buses?? How's public transportation around that area, I'm hoping just as good as philly!?
