Hello,

After reading a more caustic thread in this forum, I had a question...

Is there any research anyone knows of that polled or studied patients views of being seen by a PA (and/or NP), particularly after being informed of the educational/training differences between PAs and MD/DOs?

I think that most patients think that they are getting the same service if being seen by a midlevel as if they were being seen by a physician. I wonder how patients respond to this knowledge. Moreover, how would health care orgs deal with a population that became a least a little resistant to the idea of being seen by a midlevels?

I think most of the patients who do not want to see a midlevel are those who have little experience with midlevels.
