I could have sworn I saw something about this before but can't find it now. Is there that much of a difference between the 10th and 11th editions that I should get the 11th? Thanks!!
 
Someone on the Vet threads mentioned that there are some "differences of opinion" between the 10th and 11th ed, and they recommended the 11th ed. But I don't actually know what the differences are myself.
 
This book isnt on my required or recommended list for anatomy. i am a little bit skeptical of it because of this, and also, the cover looks like it is from generations ago haha. I wish I could see inside of it, like how amazon lets you look inside some books.

Does anyone else have an opinion about it? Is it really THAT good that i should buy it even though it is not recommended at my school?? If i had the option of seeing it in person i would go but i dont think my schools vet book store has it since it is not recommended. just wondering if it is worth another 100$ for anotherrrrr anatomy book lol
 
Katryn is right, there are "differences of opinion" between the two editions. I would recommend the 11th ed.

I might be biased since Pasquini was my professor, but his book is fabulous. I have two Anatomy books (Can't even remember the other one I have), and I don't even open the other one. I still use Pasquini's book for reference all the time. Plus, his pictures are fun. 🙂

So THAT'S where I saw it😉 Forgot to look there too! I found a 10th edition for $35, figure it's cheap enough that the differences won't be much of a problem. Then maybe get the 11th before next semester.
 
I personally liked pasquini (11th ed) and I think it is a great book to help learn anatomy. I like it because all the diagrams helps with the mental image of the actual structures and their paths. To me it was not my main anatomy text (I recommend Dyce for that) but it was an excellent choice for diagrams and is well worth the money.

It's apparently a student favorite, but for some reason professors don't list it. Politics?

Current students at my school say it's one of the most useful vet school books they've used, hands down.
 
Yeah, Pasquini's came highly recommended from two of my friends that are 4th years at UT, so I'm inclined to think about buying it even though it means buying something extra.
 
I found it fabulous for my anatomy class.

Poke around the internet a bit. Last year, I found a copy of the 11th ed for about $50.
 
I checked out a copy from our library for the semester and that worked out great! A lot cheaper too! 😉

i dunno where you found that! lol or at least a new book for that price. man, this book is a pain in the butt to search for!! the ISBN for the different editions is not clear and i want to make sure I get the 11th edition especially if I pay near normal price for it. The cheapest new 11th version i found was for $89.95 and i had to call the store to make them check it in person. He first looked it up on his computer and told me it was the 4th edition LOL i was like uhh no that can't be

It was for a used copy, but it's in great shape.

Here's the ISBN on my book (if I am not misunderstanding you): 0-9623114-2-1

I must admit, a nice bonus for this book is that it looks good on my bookshelf. It looks like one of those Serious Medical Reference type books my mom (a pharmacist) had. 😀

Yep! I got a library edition until I found a cheap one online...Chegg.com rents it too.

BTW...loved it...11th Ed for sure bc early editions had errors.

i've seen it for $89.95 and that's what our bookstore has it listed at as well. not a big difference, but just throwin' it out there. 🙂

thats the cheapest i saw for a new book. i ordered from UC Davis+7$ shipping (which was same as Miss St bookstore)

Pasquini is recommended for my class--but it's the 8th ed. Weird.
 
I ordered the 11th edition and it was just delivered. The images are incredible! I think this book will definitely help with anatomy this year.

maybe i'm the only one, but i thought this text was hardback....i didn't read the description lol. but it's paperback which makes me love it even more. i expected the box to be super heavy and when i lifted it, i was sure they had sent me the wrong book. 😀


btw cowgirla and anyone else wanting to order it...there are a few copies on half.com. one 11th edition has "never been used" and is listed for $75.

Had to bump this up: I went into Mizzou's vet bookstore today and talked to the owner about the Pasquini text. I'm not sure if you know about this yet or not, but he has a new book out on Dog and Cat Dissection (1st Edition). This coming fall semester is apparently the first semester it will be used. I flipped through it and thought it was really informative, as well as the 11th Edition Anatomy text. I'm definitely going to grab both.

We used this Dissection guide this past term at SGU....Mainly because Pasquini is our Anatomy professor, but that aside the book is amazing....It makes everything so much easier to learn...Especially because it has a focus on things that are clinically relevant....Also it lacks color which keeps the cost of the book down and allows you to color in the different muscles and muscle groups which makes learning them easier....You can also look for his Question and Answer book which is coming out/came out(he was still editing it this past term)....It’s basically 200 pages of questions and answers on all clinically relevant material...Its great for studying basic anatomy and just learning things that are clinically significant.
