In order to take calc at my school i need to take pre-calc cause I did bad on the diagnostic test my freshman year. I should be able to handle calc fine but I really hate it so I would like to take pre-calc pass/fail over the summer. Is that a bad idea? Would adcomms care?

Make sure your school doesn't care before you go P/F. Where I taught, you had to take some of these prereqs for credit, P/F may not be good enough if you're using it to get into higher level math.

The whole point of pass fail, is to be used strategically. So no, taking precalc pass fail will not negatively impact your future applications to medical school. However you should be more concerned about your future performance in Calc, if you are not confident in your abilities for Precalc. Not being confident in Pre-calc shows some indication that your Algebra may need some work, in which case Calc will be hell for you.

Good luck though.

If math is not your strong suit, you may want to just consider taking statistics, and applying to only the schools that do not require calculus.
