It looks like I'll have some room in my schedule next summer or senior year (after I have applied) to take a language class. I would love to learn some more languages, and I learn very well in a classroom setting. Unfortunately, the lang. classes at my school are supposed to be very challenging, and I was wondering if it would hurt me if I took them pass/fail. I have already completed the language requirement for my major from high school, and I would be taking this class just for learning sakes! Thanks for the advice.

I speak different languages (5) and I never thought that learning at school was the best way to learn them. If you want to learn a language, you should listen to it and not go to the grammar and writing first. Hearing it is I think the best way to learn a new language.

But to answer your question, I would ask previous students what they thought about it and decide from there. Or you could follow your guts.

Ah I see. I only speak one other language right now, but I just like the structured course work. I am looking into alternative methods to learning the language outside of a classroom setting though!

It wouldn't hurt your med school app to take a non-pre-req/non-major class pass/fail if that's what you're asking.

No one will care if you take a language class pass-fail. I took my language classes pass fail too.
