I am a freshman at a quarter system school and it was just recently announced that next term would be optional pass/fail. I have heard that it is not a good idea to make a class pass/fail, however I am unsure as this is a nearly universal thing due to coronavirus. Currently I have a 4.0 and would love to keep it, but I am confused as if I should make my classes pass/fail or if I should keep standard grading. Do you guys have any input on what I should do?

Additionally, would it be a bad idea to make one of my gen eds (sociology) pass fail and keep the test normally graded or would that be frowned down upon?

Here is some insight!

If you’re going to take something pass fail, I think you should do it across the board or else it might look like you’re hiding something. If you’ll get A’s and keep your 4.0, do standard grading. If not, think about pass fail.

so from the chart it appears as if med schools are tending to frown down upon optional pass/fail with some schools not accepting prereqs as pass/fail. Therefore would the best option be to just take the letter grade?
