So I'm currently taking 22 hours, and have a bit on my plate. I'm in a class called "Scientific Terminology" and at this point, I know I can't make an A in it, and rather than bringing down my GPA with a B, I was wondering if I should just drop the course (it'll show up on my transcript) & retake it next semester or change the registration to Pass/Fail. I'm leaning towards Pass/Fail. Which would look best to adcoms? Thank youuu 🙂

By the time you apply, a B isn't going to have a significant negative impact if you're generally getting As. Either option you present is fine. But learn from the situation and don't bite off more than you can reasonably chew again.

I would never recommend dropping a class because you're going to get a B. Don't set up an unrealistic standard for yourself. That said, if you need to drop it to keep your other course grades high, it doesn't really matter which option you choose.

I would recommend that you drop any course you think you may fail. I did that twice during my undergraduate career for personal reasons. I retook the course, passed with A's, and am now accepted to medical school. Nobody has made the slightest fuss about it because everyone knows that things happen.

I agree with Silverflash, though, if you are dropping it because you may get a B, stick with it. There are always going to be subjects that give you a run for your money.

Take Pass/fail if this class does not count as a pre-req for anything or not included in your major. But a B should not hurt you significantly.
