I'm was accepted earlier this month to medical school for next year...i am currently pass/failing a class...do admissions offices generally care if you pass/fail a class?

I've taken a handful of courses pass/fail at various points in my undergrad. The issue hasn't come up yet in my interviews (I've had 5 with 2 more scheduled) and I've gotten into two schools with one reject (Mayo pre-int.) I don't think it's a big issue so long as you don't do it a lot and it's not on the pre-reqs for the school. Be prepared to talk about why if they do decide to ask.

i wouldn't P/F any courses required to get into med school. i'd also hesitate to P/F a course required for my major. but if no ones asking, don't tell

I'm going to P/F Chinese Calligraphy next semester. Somehow I don't think the adcoms will mind.

it's biochemistry, which isnt a prereq, just taking it so as to ease a few weeks of my life in medical school

If your already accepted then your fine.

I'm doing biochem pass/fail this semester because I'm missing a lot of class (including exams & quizzes). In fact, biochem is required for UMich, but the director said pass/fail is fine. I'd just clear your plans with the schools if they require it and be sure that a p/f won't affect graduating.

Not so quick there. Some colleges actually have biochem as a prereq, UCI for example (http://www.ucihs.uci.edu/admissions/).

UCI also requires an additional course of either biochem, molecular bio, or genetics if your school is on the quarter system (Undergrad UCI is on the quarter system).

i've already been accepted and i know its not a prereq at the schools i applied to...so thats not an issue

That may be true in your case, but I felt that your comment was more of a generalization. Of course, you could be completely correct and UCI could just be screwed up...
