How does AMCAS count pass/ no pass grades? I took a science class my last quarter for fun (completely unrelated towards major) and already had a pretty burley load and I just heard this was a fun class.

I was just wondering how this will effect my verified GPA. I'm bordering as is and wouldn't like this to push me the wrong direction...

I checked this out not too long ago and I'm almost certain that pass/fail classes only count toward your overall credit hours and do not factor into your gpa in anyway. If you think your going to do bad in the class I would say you should take it pass/fail or audit it. Auditing will not win you any credit hours though. Pass/fail you have to obtain a C or greater to pass at most schools. So if you choose this option and get lower than a C then it probably will not look good on AMCAS.

A P in a P/F class doesn't count as anything. A P in a course that is graded High Pass/Pass/Low Pass/Fail gets converted to a letter grade.

A Fail won't effect your GPA either in a P/F course.
