Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if anyone has actually gone to the pass program and what they thought of it. Any details would be great. I have heard it is disorganised and mostly for people who failed it, so I was not sure if it is worth the time.
please offer any advice you have.
Hey ally1!!
I actually took the course and I thought it was very good.
Now for me, I had failed Step 1 and was needing some help. Some people told me I needed to go to the PASS Program, so I went. And some of my classmates who did not even take step 1 went to the program.
Its really up to you and how far along you are in your studies.
What the PASS Program does is take your current knowledge of medicine and shows it to you in a different way. A way you may not have seen before. It is very different from the Kaplan program, where they give you a stack of books and expect you to remember everything on every last page. Even other programs do this too. The program is designed for you to know 90% of the info. Only the most important, relevant information. They only have one book for the course, unlike Kaplan's 7 or 8 books.
They are saying if you know 90% of the information you will not only pass the boards but do well in it too. Yeah you can spend 4 or 5 more hours learning that 10% but it will not help you in the long run. Because you cannot know possible everything there is TO know.
Not only is it designed for you to know the most relevant information, but gives you strategies for taking the test as well...
I'll go more into detail later, but I'm at the library now and they are about to close.....
Hope this helps you understand it a little better....
I'll expound more later....
