Pass Step 2 CS to register for Step 3?

I just took Step 2 CS this month and from what I understand, it takes 6 months to get your results. Does this mean I have to wait till Nov to register for Step 3? I'd be using the CT loophole, of course to register for Step 3. I just don't know if you have to have official confirmation of passing a previous Step to regisiter for the next one. Anyone know about this? Thanks...

It should take about 8 weeks to get your scores. Most people here have been getting it in 6-8 weeks.

if you were one of the first batch of folks to take step 2 CS, then it would take like 4-5 months to get your score (because they needed to wait for enough people to make it to get an impression as to what the score distributions would be and to make a more "accurate" pass/fail cutoff point). this situation has long passed and people who take it in 2005 should be getting their scores in a much more timely manner. 6-8 weeks sounds about right to me.

in reading one of the comments made in the other step 3 thread here in the path forum, i've also heard that for our class, if you take step 3 before june/july or so, you technically didn't need step 2 cs.....
if this is indeed true, then i think you're set. 🙂

I had some questions regarding when we ms4's could take step 3, about state requirements (or lack of), etc etc etc....

AND found out some interesting info --

regarding the step 2 CS, apparently if you take step 3 before sometime in June I believe, then, for our 2005 class, you technically do NOT need step 2 CS taken and/or passed. This applies to our class only, next year is different I guess.

I was pretty pissed of when I heard this, all the hype about us having to take step 2 CS...all for nothing now. Don't you wish administrators told us (path, especially! considering our likelihood of taking step 3 before July!) about this?

Has anybody heard anything more definite about this? I am graduating next year (a year from yesterday 😀 - not soon enough) and if there is anyway I can get out of step 2 CS I would jump at it.
