Took Step 3 mid-December, PGY2 internal medicine year. Studied in my spare time on a consult month, using mostly USMLEWorld, doing about half the questions and scoring about 60% cumulative. Also went through Crush and Boards & Wards, mostly for peds/OBGYN/surgery and very much skimming the medicine parts. Did the practice CD, which was crucial for the simulated cases. I think I scored 75-80% on the practice blocks.

BTW: I thougt Crush was horrible, perhaps just not my style, but it seemed to leave out so much of the high yield important information. I felt woefully underprepared using Crush and wish I had gotten First Aid.

Step 3 Score: ~235
Step 2: ~235
Step 1: ~235

In my case, the 2 month-2 week-2 day rule for the steps pretty closely held true. I got almost exactly the same score for each step despite less and less preparation each time. Praise God, though, as I thought I bombed it and it would jeopardize fellowship application.

Congrats on passing! So since you didn't like Crush too much (I don't either, just not the way I study), would you recommend using First Aid and supplementing with the Kaplan books from Step 2? Is that adequate studying, in addition to doing the practice cases? Thanks for your input.
