This has been said on these boards before but I'll say it again:

You will be successful at any school you choose to go to provided you put in the necessary effort. Board pass rates do not reflect the quality of practitioners that the school graduates. Go where you want to live, and to the school that has an emphasis on an area of optometry that interests you. Worry about boards in a couple of years.

I wonder if it's easier to get into Michigian's optometry school. I think I've heard before that not a lot of people apply there. It would probably be pretty cold there, but I can handle that.

I'm from MI and applied to MCO. I think that most of their applicants and students are from MI. When I interviewed there, I just couldn't see myself living there for the next 4 years. For one, it's cold. But what's worse is that there's really nothing to do around there. Plus there's not much diversity there. Most people that go there want to live close to their families.

I'm not sure if it's actually easier to get into, since there are only 30 seats. Good luck to you!
