Does anyone else find it odd that, of all the places PASSOR could have chosen to transfer their money, they gave it to the Foundation (albeit earmarked for MSK research)?

Although the Foundation's mission does not limit it to inpatient PM&R, that does appear to have been their focus up till now.

Thoughts? Rants? Diatribes? Non sequiturs?

i thought PASSOR went belly-up?

yeah, this does rub me the wrong way. if they had 400K to spend, why not "earmark" it to develop programs/research within the new MSK council? sounds like the old guard just got away wih one.....

Yeah that seems odd. We keep hearing PASSOR has been folded into the rest of the Academy but if they had money to give it would be earmarked.

PASSOR Board of Governors powers, according to their bylaws, are "the day to day governance" or the organization.

I am struck that dissipating the vast majority of the organization's resources rises above the day to day, and should have been brought to a formal vote of the membership.

I think I am going to pursue this with the Academy (yes, I know I will undoubtedly get nowhere), but figured I would first ask if anyone here felt the Board had acted appropriately, so I could understand that point of view more fully, before I go put my head in the lion's mouth.

We have an acadamy? I signed up for the Stroke/Pain/SCI/derm council.
Do I get a t-shirt?

Probably should have been passed on to the MSK Council, considering it's supposed to be the reincarnation of PASSOR.

Anyone who paid dues should have had a say.

true, but dues are only 25 bucks.

do these issues ever get put up to a vote of the membership? ive never voted in any professional organization as far as policy. seems like the leadership does what the leadership does. im not a fan of this move.

These are the issues usually discussed at the "business meetings" held at annual meetings.
