Can I just color print a 2x2 of my head or does it need to be an exact passport photo?

Should be "passport style" - as in, a clear picture of your face, probably with a white background. I used a copy of my composite photo. Yes, you can just print a 2x2.

I did the same thing. Nothing fancy - just printed a 2x2"copy of my school composite photo.

Although it is a shame the NBME doesn't encourage glamour shots
