okay so i am really confused! everyone that scores a 20 on the PAT gets the same percentile? i read on another post that the PAT on all the test are the same...does that mean that the percentiles should all be the same for two students that score 19 on the PAT?????

The percentile means the percent of people that took your version of the DAT that you did better than, so if you get 90th percentile on Pat that means u scored higher than 90 percent of the people that took the DAT at that time. So people who take different versions of the DAT will get different percentiles, but schools never see your percentile so it doesn't really matter that much.

wow, you pwnd the pat 👍

sounds legit, however i was told all the pat on the exams are the same..so im thinking percentile would be the same too!!

maybe so, but the percentile ultimately depends on the people who were taking the DAT at that time, since it compares you to other ppl who took the test around the same time you took it, so if you have a lot of "not so smart" ppl taking it around the same time you took it and they all got 12s, then ur percentile would be a lot higher than someone who took it when a bunch of people got 29s

hope this helps XP

yes, when you take the DAT and get your score report, it says that only your standard scores (1-30) are reported to schools

that sucks though! because I know some people who scored like 20 on a section but on that particular test a 20 was like in the 94% but 20 doesn't look that great when you don't have the % to compare it to.

Wow, really? I got a 21 and it was 85.5% for me. I guess that is why they don't include percentiles with the scores they send to the dental schools.

ok I may have exaggerated lol but I have seen where a 24 is in the 95th but on another test, a 26 is in the 95th. Obviously, the person with the 24 is seen as worse than the person with the 26th.

When I took mine I got

QR - 19 - 84%
RC - 20 - 80%

???

The DAT folks have strange grading system.

"QR - 19 - 84%
RC - 20 - 80%"

yeah it just meant that on ur particular test, a lot of people did worse on the QR than on the RC. basically it's like the curves you have in college. If everyone sucks on an exam, a 75% is a B whereas if everyone did good, then a 75% is a C
