Some people wanted me to share the sources I used to prep for PAT and QR.. So here are the lists of sources I used for these (My scores: 28 on PAT, 30 on QR in case you wonder):
PAT : Topscore, CDP, Kaplan BB, Kaplan Subject tests, integrated PAT workshop, cliffnotes
QR: Topscore, Kaplan BB, 1st chapter of Sheldon Ross "A First Course in Probability" book, Wikipedia, achiever
I will be leaving SDN and won't probably come back until my semester's over. Because SDN has been a great motivation booster for me, , I am willing to give something back to this community by giving you some personalized suggestions on how you should be studying for PAT and QR. Unlike science sections, PAT and QR sections require some inherent skills, and therefore, strategies for prepping these sections will vary greatly from a person to person. Prepping it the right way can certainly boost your score, while prepping it the wrong way could waste a lot of time. I don't know how much I can help you, or how effective/helpful my suggestion would be, but I will still try my best. (Personally I did not put as much time on these sections as I spent most of my time on bio. but I still prepped for these two sections the way I thought was right for me. And the results were fortunately very good. )
So PM me with the following information if you want some personalized suggestions on how to study for PAT+QR :
1. Your test date
2. How long/how much you have studied for QR and PAT so far. what study materials.. how many hours. how regularly.
3. Your past practice scores (or most recent scores) on QR and PAT. Please indicate the dates you took each test and the sources of the tests. (ex, 2 weeks ago, CDP1). If you are new to DAT studying and don't have any practice exams yet, you can either buy one asap, do one, and tell me the scores, or indicate your SAT 1 Math score if previous options don't work for you.
4. Do you have other subjects that you need a lot of prep on? You can indicate a recent full length practice score (preferably topscore
5. Indicate your weak+strong sub-sections on PAT. (ex. easy: cube counting, hard: TFE..........or you could do it like TFE>patternfolding>aperture>angle>holepunching>cube)
6. Do you run out of time/have extra time when you do these sections? how much and why?
7. What are your dream scores and satisfactory scores on each section?
8. Other relevant info/comments?
Again, I may not be much of a help or tell you things that you already know, but anything is better than nothing.
alright. gluck to everyone
