PAT Angle Problem

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get a sense on how difficult the angle section can be. I've attached a sample problem for you to answer. Please rank them in order of increasing angle. For those that have scored well on the PAT section (especially on angles), please let me know what you think. Is this on par, less, or more difficult than the DAT? Thanks!

I had ABDC too. The red coloring and the fact that all the lines are long and of roughly equal length and the bottom lines lies flat makes it much much easier than it wouldve been. If there was no red coloring and the angles were rotated, then this problem would be almost impossible to answer with the naked eye. BC and D looks to vary by only 1 degree or less. Not representative of the real thing, but then again id take this question over many of the others ive seen if they colored and drew them like this on the real test.

Yes, the answer is A<B<D<C. Each angle is 1 degree apart ranging from 17 to 20 degrees. To make the problem easier, I did not rotate the angles and placed a visual aid. I know both scenarios will not be seen on the DAT, but my objective is to get some feedback on the difficult comparison. From what I've read, some posters commented that some of the angle problems on the DAT are impossible to determine. Thanks for your feedback.

these were incredibly difficult to distinguish. did you make these yourself?

no angles are not that close. if they were drawn differently, it would be impossible to tell apart. it was easy in these because A was obviously the smallest, and the other three you just compare the height of the top line from horizontal. DAT angles is 3+ degrees apart.

From the threads I've read, some who have taken the DAT believe that the differences could be 1 degree. You're the first to say that they're >3 degrees apart. If they are then I guess it's fair game on the DAT.
