PAT is getting the best of me guys this is absolutely ridiculous:

When I am going through a test (Test #4) on Crack DAT PAT I barely have time left for the cube counting and paper folding (average I will have 10 minutes left for both of those sections)

I mean I don't mind the 14/15s on the TFE and Keyholes but hot damn, I am cramming for those last 10 mins. And just about when I am thinking I am doing good, ohhhh no freaking houdinis throw an optical illusion into the mix on cube counting.

I wanted to get your advice guys how much average time should I spending on each type of question in the PAT so I can start managing my time:

Keyholes:
TFE:
Angles:
Hole Punching:

Some good news for you!
Cube counting is a joke on the actual dat. No optical illusions and the sizes of the stack tend to be on the small size (no 35 cube stacks like CDP).

This is how I usually manage my time:

Keyholes: 10 minutes
TFE: 10 minutes
Angles: 5-10 minutes
Hole Punching: 5-10 minutes
Cubes: 10 minutes
Folding: 10 minutes

It really depends on the individual. Obviously, the more you practice, the faster you will get. IMO, I always go 10 min each section and if I get stuck, MARK it, and come back to it.

I think I went through 6 different Angle Exams today and the highest I got was 10/15. 😡

Thank you PhansterZ, thats exactly what I was looking for, it helps when you know how you are really supposed to time it and then you can go from there and see where you need to spend less time on and where you should be spending time on

Jab1113, yeah the angles are screwing me too, I just got the royal flush edition today I suggest you get it too because the more you familiarize yourself with the different kinds of angles and what is each, I think the better you get at this section

I would except I already bought the Ace Edition...damn.

After taking my first practice test, I found it helpful to completely skip the TFE section. I used this strategy on the actual DAT (which I took just last week) and it worked fine (PAT: 24). Quickly press "C" and mark each one and skip straight to the angles. Then when I was done with everything else, I went back to TFE with about 15-17 minutes left. Get the easier stuff done first if you can. The cube counting is pretty easy. No need to count EVERY single block (which Kaplan suggests...) The angle section was suprisingly tricky, but just remember to look at you answer choices. Always look for the smallest and largest angle first and check the choices. Still you should be able to do AT LEAST 3 (while 4 or 5 is not unreasonable) angle questions a minute, which would easily put you under 5 minutes for the whole section. Hope this helps!

You just skipped the entire TFE section? Wow, never heard that one before but makes sense, it got you a 24 so it must work. Im gonna try that next practice exam see what happens
