How do you study for the PAT without developing eye strain. I'm currently 20 and have been fortunate to never have needed glasses or contacts in my life but as I am studying hard for the PAT (currently angle ranking) I am scared that by the time I take the exam 3 months from now my eye strain will cause me to need glasses. If the eye is treated as a muscle I would probably start off light for the first 3 weeks then gradually up the review length so as not to get an overuse injury. How often should/did you study a day or a week so as to keep your eyes healthy?

Angle ranking is actually easier (for myself and many others) if you lean back from the screen and don't squint. Also, 3 months is pretty long to study, but everybody is different. 4-6 weeks of hardcore studying should do the trick.

I had the same problem. I started getting eye floaters and still have them because of studying for the PAT section lol...Try to take longer breaks and try not to look at computer/iphone/tablet/ screens too much during breaks.

PAT is the least important section in the exam, it's good that you are studying, but don't overdo yourself :p

I dont wanna scare you, but since I studied for the DAT, I have developed constant floaters and inflammation in my eyes, granted that I'm 80% legally blind already so that probably doesnt help and wont be the case for you. I recently have to see a specialist to make sure I dont have detach retina. Haha.

But, I think just pace yourself nicely, gave yourself a break in between studying sessions, use eyedrop to comfort your eyes, get enough sleep.. You should be fine!!

Well like I said, I'm already 80% legally blind and stigmatisms and every eye disorder there is. And when I went to the specialist, he said that my eye is weak even before all this because of genetic.. So the likelyhood of you having the same problem is very low. Dont worry
