I am so lost right now. Usually I do alright on PAT (scores 19~22) but oh boy. when it comes to folding pattern I am CLUELESS to which way I'm suppose to fold.

Do you fold inward or outward? I think I usually fold inward but I just realized that sometimes it works the other way around.

In topscore test 2 PAT - I found a question it gives you two possible answers depending on which way you fold the pattern.

Uhh....what do I do?? is there a rule to which way we are only suppose to fold mentally in our brain? :beat::bang:

as far as i know its outward

You fold it so that the pattern that is shown is outward. Imagine that the 2-dimensional pattern you are given is completely white on the other side. So you want to have the 3-D shape with the pattern/shading/stripes on it on the outside and the "white" part on the inside so that you can't see it.

You fold INTO the page/screen(away from you), so that the shades will show up on the outside. If you print the shape out, the only way to have the shades on the outside is to fold into.

Yeah it's definitely into the page!

Think of it like this, "you have no idea what could be on the other side of that pattern, it could be a yellow octopus"
