can please someone help with the following key hole questions!

I don't understand how the answer can be e D. I have marked the part that doesn't make sense to me in red.

how is the answer here A? Is the triangle supposed to represent a hole in the cube?😕

I dont see why #1 couldnt also be B?? 😕 the top triangle like portion would fit through perfectly no?

As for #2 its A because you are putting the shape in the hole from the side so the triangle portion is facing the bottom (ie stand the object up on a desk with the triangle as your base) I hope that makes some sort of sense.

The first one is not B because the pentagon is not centered on the rectangle. If you look you can see more space on the right side compared to the left. And if you try and visually connect the edges of the pentagon and the rectangle you can see that if you observed it from the top view that it would appear to be one edge. The same goes for the second one. The triangle goes all the way to the edge. I hope this helps. Good luck!

For #2, the top of the triangle is even with the top of the rectangle and when you shift the object to its side it fits in the keyhole perfectly. Choice C can be ruled out because the triangle touches the side of the sqaure, suggesting that the prism is the same width as the rectangle. That's how I reasoned it. Then again, it may depend on the angle at which you are looking at the object, but A is the best choice given.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your studies.

For #1, the rectangle has 1/2 the width of the pentagon and only choice D shows that. Process of elimination. Choice E has the pentagon's width too thick. The rectangle may seem to be longer, but its a matter of angle and perspective. That's the tricky part.

#1: The top piece is not aligned, it's placed toward the left .. A & B are eliminated. The remaining answers are just comparing the proportions of each rectangular (imagine there is a separating line in the middle). Looking at the question, the far left side of the top piece is aligned with the far left side of the bottom and the far right of the top piece is somewhat close to the far right of the bottom (9 to 10 maybe). Thus, D is our only choice.

#2: Looking from front, TWO angles of the triangle touch the TOP & LEFT side of the square, right away B & E are eliminated. C is also ruled out because looking from top, we should have a T shape not a cross shape. D can't be the answer because it's almost perfectly symmetrical whereas the given problem show no symmetry of the front piece and the back piece. Hence A is the answer and is observed from the bottom up.

It's all about process of elimination. I hope this help and good luck with your studying.
