PAT pattern folding question

When you mentally fold the pattern, does it matter which way you fold it (aka into or out of the page). Like folding the sides up and towards you or down and away from you? Or do both ways need to be considered on the PAT?

Fold into the page.

always fold into the page. folding out will give you a different result. more often than not both of the choices will be in the answer choices, so you need to fold into the paper to get the right answer.

ok, so into the page means fold away from me? Just want to make sure.

Also, does it say this anywhere in the directions or how do you know?
