I am having such low scores (especially keyhole, hole punching, and paper folding) on the PAT section and I really dont know how to approach it. I have the kaplan book but the answer key doesn't really explain how we should approach the question. I understand that practice makes perfect but it is also important to have the strategy to solve the question (which i am lacking now). Can you suggest any books that may help me improve my perceptual ability?

I am very worried about this section. Since based on the PAT section on the Kaplan book, it seems like there's no concrete way to solve the problem. I am planning to take pottery class this coming months to improve my 3D skills!

PS: Many threads mentioned the kaplan white & blue book? What is the difference? I dont know if the kaplan book I have in hand is white or blue.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Crackdatpat will help you immensely. Kaplan is trash when it comes to PAT.

Agreed, kaplan is very weak but can help build your confidence.
Definitely get Crack Dat Pat and check out the PAT tutorial somewhere on this site (i'll see if i can find the link).
Also, i would recommend getting the barrons dat book. Its only like 18 bucks, or since everything else pretty much sucks on it, go to the bookstore and just read their section on the PAT. They have some good techniques which I found helpful.

Hey dear.
I had the same situation as you. I thought that Im not good at PAT and I cant help it, BUT i practiced my ass off for the second DAT and I got a 19(compare to my 17 for the first time) Just buy the CDP and practice and practice. my weakest point was FET and pattern foldings and angles, but CDP pretty much covered the all. just be patient. it might take a hell of a time to understand the concept. but when you get it you ll do super fast . do not skip any question. try to go over it , put time and make sence out of it
Good Luck 👍

Agreed! Crack DAT PAT is by far the best, Ive heard from many that if you can get above 20's on a consistent basis using CDP, that your actual test will be pretty close to the same. Plus CDP just gives you so much practice. Do it for like 2 hours a night before you go to bed, once you get a hang of it, it actually becomes somewhat fun to do.
