C or D?

of5834.gif

How many cubes and how many have their 3 face painted

Thanks

First Q answer is C, but why not D? Because if you lay the objects down to paper, that little coner from trangle will not overlap with the hori. bar.

Second I only count 8 with 3 face painted. balck arrow point to cubes have 4 face painted and yellow arrow point to the cube has 3 face painted, am I right?

For the first question, for me, it was a judgment call. The tip of the rectangle is too close to the ground for it to not be in contact with the horizontal bar.
For your second question, don't forget that the shape has to be continuous, and that means cubes can't be "attached" to one another by their corners, which means that there is another cube directly north of the yellow arrow (or in the middle of all three arrows).

Thanks for poniting out that for me. So it is the rule in cube counting? And there are total of 15 cubes in my figure?

Thanks

So you're saying there is a cube behind the cube that the yellow arrow is pointing too? This cube would have 2 sides painted..right?

I guess so. I use to think there is no cube behind it.
