Hey Guys...

Is there something I can buy to help me figure out the top/side view sections of the PAT. I understand the others, but I cannot figuure out this section for the life of me.

Thanks!!

Some schools (like UCLA) offer classes to improve PAT skills. I heard Barron's book was a good resource too. IMO, it takes quite some time to get used to this stuff. It would be best if you can find a tutor. If you can find someone that did well on PAT, it'd be great. But if you can't, post a note at your school looking for a math tutor with 3-D geometry background. Many students from other countries like mine intensively studied 3-D geometry in highschool. My background really helped when I got my hands on PAT. I only got 18, but I felt very comfortable with most parts. And don't forget PAT == PrAcTice!

From what I remember, Luder's right - the Barron's book (which you can find at any bookstore) had pretty good explanations of each PAT section. You might want to check it out and see if it helps.

Take a basic drafting class. I had a couple of drafting classes in high school back in probably 1988 or 89 and this is exactly what you do. I am sure that your local CC or university offers one and I know that the Adcoms would love to see something like that on your resume.

Nicole,

I am not sure how to link to post in here, but I tried. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=141977&highlight=Top+End

If this doesn't work, do a search in the DAT forum and put in Top End. Look for a post orginally by WeddleGw. There is an illustrated example in there that taught me how to figure those out and get consistently 13-14. Good luck. Also, practice really does make PAT perfect. I started barely getting a 16 and on my last Kaplan practice I got a 23 overall on PAT. Eventually, you start to see the right answer.
