True that. Go with Barrons with the PAT. Also, go to a bookstore, preferrably Barnes & Noble, and look for an ASVAB mechanical and spatial skills book. It has Key Holes, Cubes, Pattern Development, and other perceptual ability aids. It also would not hurt to use you surrounding environment to your advantage. Draw objects in your room from different points of view, assuring to place dotted lines in the right place. Be creative!!! Good luck!

What helped me the most was taking practice tests and then looking at the answers and studying the ones I missed. I even wrote down the question numbers that I thought I knew for sure so when I checked the answers I would discount the ones I got right out of pure luck. Being honest with myself helped the most.

When I went back to look at the questions I got wrong or the ones I guessed right I would focus and study each one until I understood why that was the correct answer. At first it can be frustrating, thinking you are spending too much time on just one problem but hang in there. Eventually it will click and you will find what works best for you. It may sound cheesy but it worked for me that way.

Others can share what they have learned and that can help but if you find out what works best for you than that will benefit you the most on test day. I can share a few things that helped me. One of which I discovered when I took the real DAT, but I am not sure if it will be as effective or powerful as finding out on your own.

My opinion...Take as many practice tests on the PAT as you can and continue to take them until you can understand why the correct answers are correct. What you will see on the DAT will most likely be a hybrid of those you have studied so you will be confident and can figure them out.

Yeah, Barron's has got some pointers, but some are commonsense. I heard the Lipponcot book has some PAT hints too. Has anyone used this book to supplement?

As far as strategy for PAT, I like to master those sections in which I can do easily and quickly. That way I'm able to allocate more time to the questions in the sections I'm slower at, like formations.
