Any ideas? Answer is A; for the first time I literally cut up some paper and tried to make sense of it.

This problem may seem tricky but it's not too bad. I like to find all the reasons why an answer is "wrong" before going over a potential correct answer to make sure it is indeed "right". D is obviously wrong because there is no face that have both white rectangular pieces. Based on the answer choices, we see that the answer must form a flattened "cube" were two sides are squares and the other four are thinner rectangles. The white square on the image must be "surrounded" by the thinner rectangles so imagine which pieces will go around the white square. That leave a white and black rectangle piece to form the other square on the other side.

C is also wrong because the when you look at the black triangle on the actual object, the middle length side is attached to the white square. Choice C shows that side being attached to a white and black rectangle.

Lastly, B is wrong because in order for the black rectangle to be on the "right" side of the square, the thinner rectangle on top must be all white. In reality, that piece would actually be the half black/white triangles.

So deduced choice A is correct and would go through to make sure it does work. Hope that made sense (it is so hard to explain PAT stuff in words)

Ahhh yeah.. In the reference image, I thought that the white rectangle on top of the black rectangle were on the same face. I was just trying to rotate the reference 100 degrees clockwise to match the face on the answer choices.

Ah, yea that's how they'll (test writers) get ya! This one was definitely tricky and I may have cut out this exact problem as well! LOL

Haha yeah. I did 6/7 CDP tests in a row before trying out BC, Achiever, Topscore, and now Qvault, today. Once I got the hang of CDP I was getting 24/25s and a 26, but different testing softwares seem to do some things that others don't and almost appear to be a different dialect of PAT at times.

BTW- If anyone is in the process of doing Topscore and is reading this post, there is a blatant error (at least in my case) for the first two angle problems of test 1. I am pretty sure this has been mentioned on SDN before, though, in some way shape or form
