I was certain I wanted to do ER for the first two years of med school. Then when I started clinical rotations I realized that I hated clinic, and the ER is usually just like a clinic. I didn't discover path until the end of third year--just in time, and thank God! I had also briefly looked at derm, but again, clinic.
