path vs radiology

im having trouble deciding btwn the two.
both are pretty similar for me.

no clinic or rounding (both sucks) and yet still be able to help people
dont have to worry about the lifestyle or ego of surgery
get to think (vs family and medicine)
good hours
good pay (? i think path gets good pay, i know radiology does)

?? job market. im hearing path is getting better. radiology is great right how but anyone think that the radiolgy bubble will pass a 3rd year medical studnet by...i dont want to finish residency to find that all the jobs have filled and there are less job opening b/c decreased reiembusrtment).

i think the benifits are...
no transitional year...i hate medicine
more secure future (radiolgy is fighting to keep other doctors from reading thier own images, owning there own equipment, ect and also the long removed shot of outsourcing)
i can probablly pick where i want to train and live with pathology vs hope to get and acceptance to a decent program in radiology

but...
less pay
and worse job market (may switch though)


i dont know. any words on why you guys think path (or radiology) is better

that tread (5 lines down) is just back and forth about outsourcing to india.
personally dont care about that.
being indian, i can always go back to the homeland if need be (smile)

about older treads...i spent a little time looking but a lot of thread were more social (if that makes sense). i didnt find one that really help answer my question.

again, just curious what you all like about pathology

typically threads will start out answering the original post but digress as more posts are added, its difficult to expect otherwise as the forum isnt strictly professional and is largely a social atmosphere at least in this forum from what i have seen
 
you will hopefully find some of the answers you seek at yaah's FAQ thread at the top of the page. there is also a "Eureka, why I think pathology is the bestest, most awesomest field for me" or something to that effect thread floating around somewhere. you'll probably find it if you do a search for "eureka pathology". but again, only 5-10% of the posts in that thread are the serious ones that you're most likely interested in.

The stray thread from the Rads forum was an interesting read.

This is how it's gonna be: If you ask the same question to both groups, Path is going to favour Path and Rads is going to favour Rads.
