Hi,
I am very much interested in path, but i was also wondering if pathologist have the ability to prescribe meds.
I was told that they are not. Hrm. Doesn't make sense to not allow them, but i just don't think they wouldn't as much. Do they get DEA numbers?
thanks.

Yeah they get DEA numbers. I asked. That's very important. I plan on having a buttload of Botox parties to get me through residency. Moonlighting? Pshaw!

Since pathologists are licensed physicians, they can certainly prescribe and have DEA numbers if they wish. Truthfully, there really isn't a good reason that I can think of for a pathologist to have a DEA number (unless of course you are Rush Limbaugh's personal pathologist, but I digress).
