Voluntary board certification in clinical pathology does not only help clinicians with professional development, but also provides patients with the assurance that their doctors have passed national standards and are able to provide safe and effective care and treatment. The computer-based pathology board examination for initial certification in clinical pathology is scheduled every year, and administered at testing centers in Tampa, Florida. Pathology board reviews are also updated regularly to help clinicians stay current and prepare for the exam dates. Clinicians are encouraged to take note of the following schedules pertaining to the next pathology board exams:
February 16, 2013 – Application starts for the 2013 fall pathology board exam
May 15, 2013 – Last day for submission of applications with no additional late fees
May 16, 2013 – Late application opens (additional fees included)
June 15, 2013 – Final deadline for late applications
July 1, 2013 – Last day for program director application approvals
September 2013 – Assigned dates for examination will be posted
October 14, 2013 – Date of the fall board exam
