I found some pathology flashcards, produced by Lange......they seem pretty good but I wanted to know if anyone else used these flashcards or any flaschards for path. for that matter. Are flashcards useful for path or should I just read Goljian or do both if I have the time .

Unless you're really awesome at path, I would use the flashcards in conjunction with something else (like Goljan). So like use the flashcards to reinforce concepts you learned after listening/reading goljan. I've never seen the path flashcards, but Goljan is just so great at explaining concepts, it would be silly for you to not use him as a resource.

Thanks for your response......I just got the flashcards. I'm still debating on whether to keep them. On the front there is a clinical vignette and on the back is etiology, pathology/pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and treatment. Its by Lange and its written by medical students.

If anyone has used these flashcards.....please let me know if they helped.

I have those cards and really like them. While the back has most of what you need to know about a disease, there are many diseases that arent covered that you should still know. But the cards are pretty high yield

I have those cards, too, and also like them. I generally used them as a supplement to BRS Path, and found that the clinical vignette helped with putting BRS Path's bullets into context.

I bought these flash cards and I think they are better for second year as opposed to the boards. The flash cards present buzzwords about each major disease but the boards don't ask questions in that format. You have to intuitively know the disease. For me, I noticed that doing questions were more productive than reviewing these flash cards.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless they had a lot of time to study. But for most of us, we have between 4-6 weeks so I think you have to pick and choose to maximize your time so I would avoid the flashcards and read an easy reviewbook like BRS Path or do a lot of questions instead.
