I am curious how Pathology practice works in Canada. Do they do general pathology practice or are they doing it in a sub-specialized way?

Is it easy to find jobs or are they as saturated as we are here? How easy or difficult it is for a US-trained pathologist to find a job there?

Kindly shed some light on this matter if someone knows...

All the Canadian pathologists I've known were refugees from America for reasons XYZ. Grass isn't greener.

A friend works in a lab. Doing gensurg biopsies and cyto. High pay + bonuses but taxes will kill you (50%). Amounts to as much as in US I’m thinking. Yeah grass isn’t greener.

How about fellowships in Canada?? How competitive they are when compared to US? Are we eligible to apply in 3rd year of AP/CP residency?( considering someone having a canadian PR)

Anyone here who applied for Canadian fellowships?
