Is it difficult for an IMG to get into a good pathology residency?

I'd say yes in most cases. Good pathology programs tend to have good USMGs applying also. There's usually no reason for them to take an IMG since there's an abundant number of USMGs.

You do improve your chances if you're ready to be licensed, meaning passed all 3 steps of the USMLE.
