Whats the best way to study for this exam? I've been reading the BRS but it just seems as if I'm just reading and not absorbing any of the info in my long term memory.

Has anyone just used the Robbins Review book and just did the questions and that prepared them well for this shelf? I'm thinking of just doing that and doing the first aid pathology section too.

Throughout second year path I read Big Robbins, did Robbins Q Book, read Stars Pathology, and also read BRS Path the weekend before an exam on the pertinent sections. I skimmed FA before the shelf, it was ok, but I felt like there were a lot of "holes" in it (by this I mean, some topics were just skipped over). I scored well on the shelf, but definitely left the test with a bad feeling (apparently I do this with every exam).

Pathology was my favorite class, so all the reading I did didn't really seem like that much work (it was something I actually enjoyed, as compared to the crap I am doing now). BRS reads more like an outline than anything, and it can be quite cumbersome at times (for instance, the Derm section). Only use it to reinforce material you have learned, don't use it as a primary source.

Good luck.

I took this badboy today. It was pretty tough and there's so much stuff on it that u pretty much have to know everything. Some good review sources that helped me was goljan audio, Robbins Review questions and Appleton and Lange and qbook. Alot of the questions I did from these sources showed up verbatim on the test, esp. Appleton and Lange. Again, I wouldnt have known about these sources if it wasnt for u guys so thanks again.
