Pathoma, text and video resources

Is there some kind of consensus on whether one form of media (Text/video) for pathoma is categorically more helpful than the other, or do most prefer a tailored mixture of the two? What about text vs video for other resources in general?

I only used the video, if you can master that the text is irrelevant.

I'm sure there are several discussions about Pathoma on the USMLE forum, but in my experience I like watching the video while making notes in the textbook simultaneously (his video lectures follow the text almost flawlessly) and if necessary, reread the text with my additional notes from the video lecture.

I also think that when it comes to Pathoma - everything that you will read in the text is also in the video lectures, but not all information in the videos is also in the text. So for what it's worth, definitely watch the videos! Good luck

Book and videos together are a must.

However, if I had to choose one, I would choose videos.

I'm thinking of condensing my resources and dropping the book and focusing on the vids. As step 1 approaches, I'm realizing that FA must be memorized, and having 2 books is inefficient. What do you guys think

Initially the videos are best for listening to Dr. Sattar's reasoning/explanations and watching his drawings. As the Step 1 approaches the book becomes more useful since it requires less time to read through. You can only watch the videos so many times

I'll echo the sentiment that both are necessary/beneficial in their own way--you shouldn't necessarily choose one over the other. The videos are excellent for a first pass of the material and the text is useful for revisiting the key points without having to dig through the videos again.

You are eventually going to forget an aspect of the material. Having the book with annotated notes is the fastest way to review and look up information.

Definitely both. I annotated the extra stuff he said and drew in the videos into my book during MS2 and then I didn't have to watch the vids again for Step studying, everything was in the book.
