in both my 2nd course work and board review i'm finding that all my review books- micro made simple, brs path, etc to be great for everything except the really clincial stuff- clinical presentation, physical exam, Dx tests, etc.
does the board test this much?
if it does what should i supplement with? i'm thinking boards and wards. is this good to read anyway?

thanks!

I'm also an M2, so I haven't taken Step I yet. I do use Boards and wards quite a lot, however. It is my second favorite book to BRS Path. One of my friends who is an M4 (got a 258 on Step I) said he studied First Aid, Step Up, and Boards & Wards, and did Q bank. I caution you however, as he got a 38 on the MCAT and is what I would call a "Genius." Do with this info as you please 🙂

I'm an MS2 also but I really like pathophys B&W. It gives a different perpsective on the pathological process than robbins or BRS path. Its definatly more clinically relevant than the others and gives a good down and dirty version of what you'd expect to see. Can't comment on its usefulness for the boards but I definatly think its helping me w/path.

Id also recommend the robbins review of path (question book) the questions are really great and seem very board relevent.

This book was one of the many that I read, and I imagine that I got some things out of it, but it would not suffice as a primary resource. I really believe that you need a prose source for that, rather than an outline.
